Dr. David Weisman has worked at NYC Health + Hospitals/Queens since 2013, first as Director of Patient Experience and then as Chief Experience Officer beginning in 2020. He is the administrator for Patient Relations, Food and Nutrition, Pastoral Care and Language Access. In all of his roles and responsibilities, he has fostered a culture of person-centered care for continuous improvement of the care experience. David Weisman earned his PhD in Clinical Psychology. He has received his certification in Patient Advocacy, Patient Experience Leadership. In 2018, he was in the first cohort from NYC Health + Hospitals to achieve the designation of Certified Patient Experience Professional (CPXP) and continues to maintain that designation. In 2022, he was named a Fellow in Person Centered Care by Planetree International. He was an integral member of the leadership team that facilitated the NYC Health + Hospitals/Queens achievement of Silver Certification for Excellence in Person Centered Care by Planetree in 2023. Queens is only 1 of 185 organizations world-wide to be certified at any level and only 1 of 65 receive Silver status.
